This is about pornography.

This is an interview.  This is an intervention.  This is an interrogation.

We're recording now.

We want to pull its plug out.  We want to stop its heartbeat.  We want to blow its brains out and begin again.

We know exactly what we're doing.

We're not stupid.

ALICE BIRCH & RASHDASH

ANGRYPUNKISH, IF NOT ALWAYS COHERENT PIECE ABOUT THE TOXICITY OF PORNOGRAPHY. .

"The production takes the form of a series of episodes and while some are explosive, the theatre erupting in music and movement, others feel like exercises in endurance.  Playing out against designer Oliver Townsend's tunnel of tongue, the physical language of the piece is as important as the text.  While interrogating the way pornography dehumanises women, the way it reduces them to meat, to holes, it is also a celebration of their strength, of the things a woman's body can do.  Goalen and Greenland are simultaneously wrestlers and dancers, grappling with each other, climbing each other like trees'.

Natasha Tripney writing for the Stage.

Andrew Haydon: 'We Want You To Watch turns out to be about as joyous and life-affirming experience you can have in theatre while the world is still in the miserable shape it's in'.  Full review here
